Lib Dem councillor for North Heaton Greg Stone has welcomed efforts by Newcastle city council to improve enforcement of dangerous parking in the vicinity of Ravenswood Primary School.
Greg said "The junction of Ravenswood and Chillingham Road is already a serious problem in terms of visibility due to parked cars, and the frequent parking problems in the area at school run time are a real problem for traffic safety. More parking restrictions will help but I also want to see a safer traffic flow system brought in on Farnley Road at the school's western entrance, and am supportive of suggestions to consider the use of the Northumberland Hussar's car park as a more convenient parking place for parents looking to collect their kids from the school gate"
